Nolan @ Six Months

I could just cry when I think about this boy being six months old.  Babies are precious and sadly I can hardly remember the last six months of this little one's life.  I wish it would just slow down.

 Six Month Stats:
18 lbs (95th percentile)
28 inches (75th percentile)

Nolan is the sweetest baby.  He demands attention 95% of the time he is awake and he usually gets it from someone.  (Pretty much I accomplish nothing around here.)  Nolan never holds still... he is always moving when you hold him.  He can roll over, but doesn't like to.  His first bottom tooth broke through this week and he is jabbering up a storm.  He is always laughing at his brothers and gives JC and I lots of courtesy laughs as well.  He has the sweetest smiles and we can't help but smother him in kisses all day long.  He has yet to earn a nickname in our family and all we call him is our "Handsome" baby.  He doesn't sleep... takes three cat naps during the day and slept for the first time from 7pm-5am this week.  (Sleep is overrated...)
I am usually up with him twice and Kamden once...  I'm over complaining about it.  I've embraced the motto,
"This is my life.  Sleep later."

How can one complain when these sweet blue eyes stare up at you at 2am....  I just melt.

Love this sweet, happy, healthy, handsome baby boy of mine.

We can't seem to get enough of him.

Six going on Sixteen...

Zenock turned SIX on April 1st.  We are so happy to have him in our family.  He is learning and growing like crazy.  He lost his 2nd tooth last night.  He reads everything he sees.  At the dinner table he is constantly reading the labels on condiments and anything with words on it.  He is super smart.  I am amazed at the words he can read.  He has been super busy with t-ball lately.  We don't have much time for anything else.  Zenock is a sweetheart; six going on sixteen.  He knows more than he should at times and is a genius on knowing how to drive us crazy. :)  Good thing we love him.

Kamden guarded/watched over Zenock's presents all day.  (I watched over Kamden all day.  Whenever I left the room he would try and open one.)  He is such a faithful good brother to Zenock.

Zenock's bike was getting a bit small.  He got a new one with some growing room.  He got lots of spy stuff, Lego's and a bug playground from Grandma and Grandpa Reeder, a lock-box (to lock all his treasures away), new clothes for Summer, and a gift card from his Grandpa and Grandma Larson.  Kamden also got a new scooter that the Easter Bunny forgot to give him, (on purpose so that his brother could get a bike for his Birthday and the two wouldn't argue).

I was pretty darn proud of my cake for Zenock.  I made a chocolate fudge cake from scratch and then covered it with peanut butter frosting.  It was really, really good... really good. :)  If only we weren't trying to watch our weight around here... I ended up throwing half of it away.  I am looking forward to the day when I have three teenage sons who will eat everything in sight and leave me with nothing to be tempted by. :)

Zenock had a busy day.  I got to go to lunch with him at school.  We got to sit at a special table with him and three friends of his choice.  It was so fun to have a moment inside his world.  His friends teased him about his crush and they talked about playing Ninjas at recess.  I took cupcakes into his class and about got mauled with hugs from 20 Kindergarteners.  It was so fun to be there with him for his special day.  He had t-ball practice later that day and we ended the day with Birthday cake and Happy Birthdays.  I loved celebrating my special SIX year old.  Happy Birthday Zenock!  We sure love you, your personality, and all that you teach us as your parents.  We love watching you grow up!

Easter 2010

Has Easter really already come and gone?!? Right now it feels like the middle of Summer here in Alabama.  It is 80+ degrees and lots of humidity the last few days.  Loving it. :)

We had Spring Break the week before Easter.  We had a few fun days with friends.  Friday I took my boys to an Easter Egg hunt for lots of families in our Ward.  Saturday was our Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  The longer we live here, the more we enjoy our Neighborhood and the friendly people who live here.

For the first time since we moved here we are finally enjoying late 12:30 church time.  It is totally screwing up our nap time and makes Sundays seem super short, but it is great for holidays. The picture is super blurry, but I love having a picture of what the Easter bunny brought my kids each year.  My kids are still obsessed with squinkies (anyone else!?!).  They are the perfect size for little boys to carry with them everywhere in their pockets (and get lost).  Although, I'm pretty surprised how many they haven't lost.  It is really starting to freak me out that they will be all over when Nolan starts crawling.  They are SO not baby approved.

The only picture we could get of the boys in their Easter/church clothes...

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating the Savior and all he has done for us.  We enjoyed dinner with some friends and being together as a family.  I can't believe it is already over for another year.  Didn't I just put Christmas decorations away?!?  Life is flying by in a blurr.

Sweetness

Just a few random pictures I found on my camera this week.  They were too cute not to share.

Nolan @ five months.  He is the sweetest baby.

At Zenock's first t-ball game of the season.  Nolan was so cute dressed up in his Dodger gear.  Poor child gets smothered daily with kisses.  He is that cute/sweet. :)

I don't know how he ever falls asleep with the noise level in our house.  I have a movie to go along with this picture and the yelling in the background is not anything peaceful to fall asleep to.  We all have to catch our zzz's somehow. :)

In case you missed it and aren't part of the Instagram community.  Here are the pictures I've shared there.  I have broken two phones in the past and lost lots of sweet pictures and memories.  I love that I can share my little moments via Instagram and later post them here.  One thing I am realizing is how important it is to use my other camera and capture some "good" images.  These are great for the moment, but not so much for detail.  Regardless, I love these sweet moments.

Going ALL the way back to January... *Flirting with the girls at play group.  Nolan was big smiles.  *National Championship day: Notre Dame vs Alabama and all we own is Notre Dame apparel.  (We have recently changed this.)  *Nolan's first bumbo experience.  *We had a very mild winter.  It just stayed chilly around 40-50 degrees all winter.  *My Birthday lunch date with friends and two crazy little boys.  *Disney Headbanz; My boys love this game.  *Zenock prayed for snow.  It came in the middle of the day and school was cancelled.  It took me an hour to get to school to pick him up, I passed 4 wrecks.  By the time we got home, the snow had stopped.  *Whenever I sing this song in church I can hear and picture my sweet Grandma singing next to me tapping her foot in tune and waving her chorus finger.  She practiced what she sang.  Sure miss her.  *Falling asleep in the midst of play.  Apparently, letting go was too much trouble.

*Downton Abbey obsession.  I dream I live there and wake up wondering where I am.  *I never knew a little boy who cared so much about what he wore.  He insisted on a tie.  He is still a boy through and through... plays ninjas at recess and comes home with holes in his knees and pockets full of rocks.  *Oreos is the cure for any stressful situation.  (You have to eat the whole package though. :)  *We axed our cable - best decision ever.  We still get to see all of our favorite shows through the internet, roku, hulu, and netflix.  *Nolan loves Grandma.  *We ALL love when Grandma comes to visit.  *We introduced Grandma to a normal Saturday with the Larson Family... Lunch @ Mama Goldbergs and Costco.  (Plus a little historical/antebellum home tour in downtown Huntsville.)  *My sweet and cute little Valentines.  *These smiles are precious to me.

 photo square-p0014.jpg

*Fourteen days of "cheesy" Valentines for JC.  I loved doing it, but pretty sure he was glad when it was over. *I loved having my Mom here.  Wish we were neighbors.  We would accomplish so much!  *I really can't wait an entire year for the next season of Downton Abbey.  *I wouldn't open Kamden's play cash register for the hundredth time and he says, "I not be your best friend Mom"  The things they learn from older siblings...  (fyi, We are still best friends.)  *Nolan's first rice cereal!  He loved it and was literally diving for the spoon and laughing.  *I am drowning in little boy clothes.  They are taking over my house and garage.  It is a dreaded task changing things out for the seasons.  *Six ear infections in six months = ear tube surgery.  Update:  I wish I could say this has helped and made him feel better, but nope.  He has been sick every month since September.  We went to the Dr and they ran a bunch of tests and drew his blood.  They even gave him an extra immune booster shot.  Guess what... he is sick again and was up all night coughing.  Up next is a visit to the Allergy clinic.  Hopefully, we can find some relief for this boy.  *Friday afternoon, in the car, searching for cleats for baseball practice which starts tonight and this just happened... Life of a Mom with three boys.  (I'm afraid it is only the beginning.)

 photo square-p0015.jpg

*We have had many sleepless nights with this little one of mine.  Here is hoping for a happy boy soon!  *When this little boy bats his eyelashes at me... I give him anything he wants.  *This is how Kamden and I do TBall practice... Sitting in the warm car eating dark chocolate Cadbury eggs.  (It was way too cold for us.)  *Batting practice, Tis' the Season.  *My little Zenock informed me that he took a stack of mormon.org cards to school and passed them out... :)  What a little Missionary!  *Costco find of the week.  Our favorite granola ever!  I could eat an entire bag in one sitting.  It is so good, it can't be healthy!  *How am I supposed to accomplish anything with a teething baby who just wants to be held all the time.  *Welcome to Spring Break.  My entire house was clean this morning... Not anymore.  It is going to be a long week!  *Enough said.  We are packing up and moving to Neverland.  Join us. :)

 photo square-p0016.jpg

*Easter Egg Hunt with my little ones.  *Kamden quote:  "Wow, A NEW baseball!  KA-chow"  He is just like his Dad.  *We had a fun/very busy spring break.  The Easter bunny delivered and we celebrated the day with friends.  Oh, but wait... It's not over yet... Tomorrow my sweet Zenock turns 6!  Fun day planned ahead.  (I'm already exhausted and can't wait for Tuesday!)  :)  My kids are growing too fast!  *And one more of this sweet little one's grin.  I can't get enough of him.  *Just had lunch with my Birthday boy and his friends.   I also got to meet his crush.  What a fun moment to look inside his world!  (He even told me what I should wear today to impress her... Sheesh!!  He picked his green shirt to wear just for her.  Six or sixteen??? I can't decide.  *Loving his first cantaloupe tonight.  *My secret:  Some days I leave my children in their pj's until noon or later... They are super cuddly that way.  *Driving his new Easter scooter around the house the past three days (because of the rain) singing "I'm a Secret Agent Man..." over and over.  I hope he never grows up!  *Six month check up.  Loving this happy healthy boy of mine.
