Harmony Park Safari

We celebrated JC's Birthday last weekend.  We needed to get out of the house and do something fun.  I had been told about the Safari Park way back when we moved here, but we have never taken the time to go.

It was a great way to celebrate JC's 31st Birthday. :)

All the perks of a zoo and no walking around in the hot humidity!  The animals came right up to the car and we were able to feed them out the window.  I have to admit I wouldn't let JC roll the windows more than half way down.  I was a little freaked out by some of them.

We couldn't stop laughing at the Llamas faces.

The camel just about ripped our windshield wiper off and  couldn't get enough of our rear view mirror.
My boys loved being able to sit up front and not be in their seats... I am super strict about car seats and seat belts.

Our favorite part was feeding the turtles.  I honestly thought turtles were a lot slower than they are... These turtles were pretty speedy when we were feeding them.  We would turn around and five of them would be behind us waiting for food.

It wasn't a big park, but perfect size for little boys.  After the park we were driving right along the Tennessee river and found a small boat dock.  We got out and let our boys watch the boaters along the river.  The scenery was beyond beautiful... We live in such a green, pretty place!  We need a boat (or someone with a boat) to take us on a ride along the river.... Any takers?? :)

After we got home we decided to try out the new Smashburger Hamburger place that just opened up.  It was as enjoyable as you can imagine with two little boys. :)  (We are done taking them out to eat!!!)  The food wasn't really great either.  We had a fun day as a family though and were glad we got to celebrate with JC.
