Random April

I have so many little things to post about, but don't have the time or the energy to post them into little separate posts... So we will make this a big/long update/pictures downloaded from my phone kind of post. =)

A lot of the pictures from my phone are of Kamden.  I think both my boys are pretty darn cute and I love them both the same, but only one of them will let me take a picture.
(Just as a reference for my Zenock in the future when he asks why there are never any pictures of him.)

---

We will start at the beginning of April... The day after Zenock turned five, both of my boys had appointments.  Zenock for his 5 year check-up and Kamden for his 18 month check-up.

Zenock's stats:
 Height:  41 3/4 inches
Weight: 34.9 lbs

Kamden's stats:
30 3/4 inches (25 percentile)
21.8 lbs (50th percentile)

They are getting too big and growing daily.  Kamden picks up new words daily, this week we heard "tub time" and "Dodgers."  We uploaded a few new videos to youtube, you can view them here.  Just normal/everyday stuff with my boys. =)

---

A little update on Zenock's T-Ball...  They are doing AWESOME.  They have only lost one game so far.  They played the number one team (out of 13 teams).  The kids on the team are mostly six year olds and have all played together for at least a season.  They also had already hit 14 home runs this season by the time we played them.  Zenock's team was ahead the entire game and ended up losing by ONE POINT in the final inning.  The cutest part of the whole game was when our Coach was talking to the team at the end and was saying how it doesn't matter if you when or lose, we all did our best.  One of the boys raised his hand and asked the coach, "What does LOSE mean?"  The parents all cracked up.  It was adorable to see how innocent they all are and that at this age they really don't care if they are winning or losing it is just fun to get out there and play hard. =)

Thursday we played the number 2 team and beat them by ONE POINT in the last inning.  It was a VERY intense game.  I need to record how crazy the fans (parents) get during these games.  Holy MOLY!  We needed to get three outs and were able to get 4 up to bat and 3 out.  Our pitcher caught a line drive for the 3rd out... everyone went crazy.  You can only score 6 runs in an inning and we needed five to tie the game and six to win.  We had bases loaded and two outs and our first baseman hit a homerun to win the game.

Seriously, My heart should not be pumping that hard and fast for a T-Ball game!!!

We love spending our evenings at the ball park and are so proud of our Zenock.  He has improved and learned so much just since the beginning of this season.  Practice pays off people. =)  We love it even better when it is warm enough to get a snow cone.  JC, Kamden, and I could each eat at least three during a game.  They are so good!

Kamden has one show and only one show that he will watch.  When he watches he is glued to the tv... Old McDonald by Baby Einstein.

Photobucket

He loves playing in my cupboards while I get ready for the day.  He especially loves wearing all the headbands.  Who needs a girl when your son can look this cute wearing a headband. =)

Photobucket

Kamden is a late sleeper... Zenock and I are usually already awake and mostly ready when he gets up.  Kamden has to have his bottle of milk, his blanket, and lays on the pillow to drink his bottle every morning.  If his routine gets disturbed he gets pretty fussy throughout the morning.  (One reason I haven't given up his morning bottle.)

Photobucket

Kamden always crosses his legs when he sits in his high chair (or when he sleeps).  It is one of my favorite things he does.

Photobucket

"Pop, Pops" during "Tub time" are one of Kamden's favorite things after playing outside.

Photobucket

Zenock loves transformers.  After spending a good seven hours at the car dealership, Zenock got to see the "real bumblebee."

Photobucket

Our newest family member... A family sized car. =)  It's taken me a bit of adjusting to driving a big car...  Let's just say, I park a mile away at the store, because I am afraid of hitting someone or something.  JC on the other hand is practicing his hand at squeezing into the tiniest of spaces.  We are both loving the extra room and are excited for our road trip to Utah this Summer.

This could also account for our Anniversary present.  (Who needs a trip to Hawaii anyway?!?)  We bought the car on Saturday and celebrated our EIGHT year Anniversary on Monday.  After feeling pretty much broke we celebrated with a lunch date at Phil Sandoval's Mexican restaurant. (Finally, a decent Mexican restaurant here... trust me, we've searched!)

I took my little boys on a lunch date/picnic to the park during Spring Break.  Nothing big, just a fun little memory.  We don't have any parks close to us and have to drive a bit to get there, so we don't go very often.

Photobucket

We spent Friday evening with friends eating Village Inn pizza (best pizza... possibly ever!), playing a family/friendly game of T-ball, (the kind where every bone in my body hurts the next day, because I am A: completely out of shape and B: laughing way too hard), hunting for frogs, playing outside, Otter pops, and ending the night with popcorn and a movie.
The best way to spend a Friday night. =)

So grateful for good friends that share their popcorn and amazing T-ball skills with us...

AND, that has been April... so far.

Easter

We started Easter weekend off a little early on Friday meeting JC for lunch.  I love being able to go on lunch dates with ALL my boys.  It seriously makes the week!  And, after a busy week it was much needed before our busier weekend.

Saturday our friends held their annual Easter Egg hunt in their backyard.  It is always a hit and lots of fun to visit with so many good friends.

After Kamden found out what was inside the eggs, he would pick one up, set his pacifier down, open the egg and stuff jelly beans in his mouth... and then move on to the next one.

Photobucket

The one year olds got to hunt for eggs first... Kamden and his friend Kate found the jackpot. =)

Zenock could barely stop to take a picture.  He was on a mission.

When we got home there was a package on the doorstep from Grandpa and Grandma Larson.  A Birthday present for Zenock and a little toy ambulance (complete with sounds!) for Kamden.  He has been in love and drives it along the window sill in the kitchen every day while I'm cooking.

Kamden always has a bag of his favorite toys at the moment that he carries around with him for a few days.  Today it was Easter eggs, bugs, and his ambulance.

Photobucket

Later we colored eggs... for the first time in three years!  I always think this is something that has to be done the night before Easter which was the tradition in my family.  BUT, every year the night before Easter is super crazy, chaotic, and there is always something going on.  I need to remind myself that it is ok to do it a few days earlier.

While we were at church, the Easter Bunny left the boys a few treats.

Zenock was pretty excited about new DS games. =)  Thanks Easter Bunny.

My little Kamden loves treats and carried around "his" treats all afternoon.

This is a pretty typical picture of these two... It takes about fifty shots and a lot of patience to get a good one.  I gave up around 15 - just not worth it.  Zenock hates the sun being in his eyes (although it is on the other side of the house) and Kamden trying to get away from his brother.  Memories for a lifetime. =)

We had a great little Easter.  We had some friends over Sunday evening for dinner and loved being able to spend a fun relaxing evening together.

Five Years Old!

I have a FIVE year old!!!

I still remember every minute, moment, and emotion I felt when Zenock was born... It seems more like yesterday.  It's been an eventful, adventurous, and crazy five years with this boy.  He has taught us more than we would ever be able to teach ourselves.  He's captured our hearts and for the most part has us wrapped around his finger.... (we are starting to understand that this isn't such a good thing... and unwrapping yourself causes great stress!)  We love him more than anything!  We especially love his sweet side and the sweet boy he is growing up to be.  He is the best big brother and his Kamden is sure going to miss him next year.

We get to register for Kindergarten next week... Zenock and I are both SUPER excited and are counting down the days until school starts in August.  We are hoping with lots of activities and vacations the Summer will go by FAST! =)

Zenock's Birthday fell on Sunday of General Conference this year....  (Poor Kid... Seriously, what kid wants to sit and listen to general conference on their Birthday!)  SO, we had a fun Batman themed Birthday Party the week before his Birthday.  That way he could have an entire "Birthday WEEK" to celebrate.

With sixteen little boys (which included little brothers of some)... It was quite the party. =)  We had planned for it to be at the park, where they could go crazy and fight some crime, but of course when you plan something it never works out.  It rained for two days before the party and the park was a water hole.  After a midnight scramble to put together a few party games and organize a little bit so things wouldn't be too chaotic...   It was party time at Zenock's house!

When the boys first got there... we had them show us their best Batman Muscles with their masks on.  (Sadly, we could only get a few of them to actually do it for the camera.)

Photobucket

We played a few games... including dressing Zenock up as a Mummy (wrapping him in toilet paper) so we would be able to recognize our villains when they attacked.

Then it was present and cake time...
After the first present, there was a crowd surrounding the Birthday boy and I wasn't able to get a picture of him opening anymore.  Haha. =)

Kamden waited patiently for his cake...  He pretty much thinks of himself as a five year old these days.  Anything Zenock can do... he can do too.

Zenock confirmed the party was lots of fun (which is ALL that mattered) and there wasn't any blue frosting smeared on my wall like last time.  It was a great party. =)

So thankful for all of Zenock's fun friends that live close to us.

April 1st, 2012

Zenock was born on General Conference Sunday and I remember one of the nurses (who thankfully was only my nurse for about 20 minutes) said, "Looks like you'll be in Labor for the most part of today- You can watch and enjoy General Conference."  Only in Utah.  I wanted to punch her nicely. =)   I love General Conference and the peace it brings into my home and the inspiration it brings into my life.  I love how I can relax and soak everything in, but when you are in labor - "relax and inspiration" were not quite what was on my mind.

I told Zenock to stand by his presents and smile and my little Kamden went and stood right in front and smiled with him.  Love these two.

We laugh every time Zenock smiles like he is in the above picture.  We dearly refer to it as, "the dork smile."  Hoping it will go away soon and not sure where it came from.

After early morning presents, we made some Birthday Cake Pancakes (literally, made from a Birthday cake mix -- Really Good!).  We got to relax and enjoy G.C. for the rest of the day, visit with Grandparents, Aunts, & Uncles, and enjoy being together.  We made sure to have lots of treats on hand for the day and having some new toys to play with helped out lots.

Photobucket

Later we enjoyed our sunny Alabama weather and played outside and had races down the sidewalk. (Zenock's favorite thing to do and even though he has a big bike, he still prefers his trike.)

Since we spent a week eating Birthday Cake, we made a special treat (Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookie Bars) for our Birthday celebration.

Love you lots my sweet Zenock!  Holy Moly!  I can't believe this kid is five.

Happy Birthday!

Photobucket

My Mom gave Zenock some Birthday money to spend, so for maybe the 8th time since we've lived here we traveled ourselves to Wal-mart in search of the perfect toy.  (We wanted a big selection of outside toys and Target- "my go to destination" didn't have a whole lot.)

He chose golf clubs, a dinosaur, a squirt gun, a frisbee, a jump rope, a nerf gun, and a treat (THANK YOU Grandma Reeder!)  On our way home he declared, "Mom, Thank You for buying me every toy I've ever wanted!!!"  He was pretty Thankful.  Of course we couldn't leave Kamden out, so he chose golf clubs and a new ball which he held all through the store showing and telling everyone who passed by, "My Ball! My Ball!"  They have been cute all week playing together and pushing their golf bags around the house.

It has been a very Happy Birthday for my FIVE year old.
