Outside

My little Kamden figured out what it means to play outside about a month ago.
Since then we have been outside non-stop.  (Thank goodness for warm weather!)
Outside and Popsicles are his favorite things in the world right now.  The grin that lights up on his face is darling and his dance when you show him a popsicle is hilarious to watch.

As soon as he wakes up from his nap he brings me his shoes and runs to the door and stands on his very tip toes to reach up and open it.  (It pretty much melts my heart to watch him and to see how much he is growing.)  I have a hard time with Zenock getting older, but I honestly think with Kamden it is much worse.  He was supposed to be my baby forever.  I am SO not ready for him to be big.

Kamden knows the rule when Dad gets home is, "Dinner, Cookie, Outside!"

Scooter rides and anything that involves throwing, hitting, or kicking a ball are his favorite outdoor activities.

He sure has a rough life. =)

T-ball, St. Pattys, and Dodgers!

The only good thing that comes from not blogging is I can say it will save me money at the end of the year.  Instead of $150 to print my book, I might be able to keep the cost under $100. =)
Other than that... it just means I'm way behind.

St. Patty's Day was fun this year.  Zenock was dead set on setting a trap and catching a Leprechaun... he talked about it for days and practiced his hand at trap setting before he and JC finally were able to set the perfect trap.

I love his imagination and enthusiasm for life.  I can't wait for Kamden to join in and watch their minds work together!  No Leprechaun this year, but he did leave some treats behind for Zenock which he accepted with out complaint.

Our lives have been filled with t-ball and more t-ball this month.  We  have had lots of practices, (at home and on the field), and have had two games (one was rained out).  We opted out of Soccer this Spring knowing we wouldn't have time for both.  T-Ball is a serious sport here in the South... even as far as renting out indoor facilities to hold practice when it is raining.  Yeah... that intense.  We hear things from the Coach telling the kids,

"You've got to hit the cut off man!"

Umm... I had to have JC explain that one to me.  Between 3-4 practices a week and 1-2 games a week, weekly Relief Society meetings (that sometimes last THREE hours!)  Planting all my flowers,

(Hello! Spring, Summer, and Sunburns!)

And trying my best at being a landscape architect and making my yard look different from the neighbors, planning a Birthday party for 16 little boys, preparing for Easter/Birthday/Anniversary, etc.  I am beat at the end of the day and am just TRYING to stay on top of things and survive life.  But, Really I can't complain.  I am enjoying all of it.  It just takes a LOT of energy.

I was beyond excited to look at my Calendar this week and realize it is SPRING break for our schools which means no preschool, no t-ball games or practices, no nothing.  I am free ALL week!  Perfect week to read!  I am not a reader and hate books, but nine months ago my friend "loaned" me (yeah, I feel awful about it, I never keep things that long!)  a set of Pride and Prejudice books written from Darcy's point of view.  I'm a huge Pride and Prejudice fan- One of the classics I actually read in school and didn't check out the cliff notes.  BUT, I finally put them in my car set on returning them two weeks ago.  While waiting on something (I can't remember what!) I picked up the first one and read a chapter... I've been hooked since and CANNOT stop reading.  I'm in the middle of the third one (last one) and made myself put it down and take a break today to catch up.  Considering,  I have all week to finish it. =)

My little Kamden loves batting practice at home... He'll find anything resembling a bat to hit the ball.  This particular night it was his beloved lightsaber.

Zenock had his first game on St. Patrick's Day.  It was a gorgeous day (85 degrees!) and was perfect for a middle of the day T-ball game... Almost too hot!  When we first found out what team we were going to be I thought JC would kill over with excitement.  GO DODGERS!!!  (JC's favorite as well as his Dads favorite team.)

It makes getting ready for the games kind of fun since we are already decked out with Dodger shirts and hats. =)  Since my Zenock hates his picture taken... (the sun is always too bright.)  Kamden will gladly cheese it and model for the team.

Zenock did great during the game!  The team was ahead the whole game and won 18-11... They were all VERY excited little boys in the end!  They worked really hard and did such a good job.  My little Kamden was a great little cheerleader for his brother... watching the game through the fence.  He didn't cry the entire game and just played and watched the game.  (He has such a different personality from Zenock who I would have fought at this age the entire time during the game.)

They had a fun little opening ceremonies for the start of the season and called the boys out of the dugout one by one onto the field.  They then did a team cheer to start everything off.   I will try to get the video posted to our you tube page soon.

It was such a fun fun day... And only the beginning of the season which goes until the end of May.  We are so excited for more games to play and to watch.  So get used to more T-ball posts... =)

It is pretty much what consumes our lives at the moment.

Favorite things.

It has been a crazy month... already!  We made it through another Tornado/storm safely.  The same areas that were hit last Spring were hit again... (just not as wide spread as last year.)  We took a Sunday drive yesterday to check things out... My heart goes out to anyone who really has to sit in their closet and pray for their life.  Seeing some of the homes that were destroyed (some were big nice dream homes) that are destined to be completely bulldozed if not already by the storm... It is heartbreaking to see.

Zenock started t ball a few weeks ago... Our first game is this Saturday, but they have been having practice at least 3-4 times per week for the last 3 weeks.  We knew this group was intense, but we really didn't like the group we played with last Spring and we wanted Zenock to play with the kids he would go to school with.

I say intense because seriously who has 4 practices a week for T-Ball!  Zenock also has to have all his own gear and bag to carry it all in.  FIFTY dollar uniforms!  At the end of the season they play in the tournament and the team that wins ends up going to region and state... for TBALL!  Seriously???  Our coach took his older sons Tball team to state 3 years ago.  (We are not encouraging nor expecting this as parents.)  I am not a Tiger Mother to my almost five year old son.  Zenock is one of the youngest on his team.  The cutoff date to play was mid April and his Birthday is the beginning.  Most of the boys are at least a year older on his team.

I do however love the discipline, focus, and attention that sports has to offer.  I think there is something so very educational in letting your children play sports.  Being able to listen to and follow the coach and learn something new is a great tool to be used through out life.  I also love the socialization Zenock gets with boys he doesn't know.  He has always been very friendly and can make friends in an instant.  The few practices I've been to, I love how the other boys yell to Zenock to come play or refer to him as their friend and try to help him or teach him the sport after only a few weeks of knowing each other.

A funny little story... Zenock is obsessed with my phone and play games on it all the time. The other night while I was getting him dressed and ready to leave for practice with JC he kept asking me if I needed to make any phone calls while he was gone or if I needed to call Dad.  I thought it was funny and told him no.  After he left I started picking up the house and kept searching all over for my phone.
 WELL...
The little turkey took my phone to practice and JC caught him playing games on it!

We have a few favorite things around our house.  Some are more favorite than others and some only last for a little bit, but I don't want to forget the stages my boys are in right now.

Photobucket

Zenock still loves his giraffe named Tip Top... It is his best friend at night and during the day when others aren't around.

Kamden's most favorite thing is his Blue Blanket.  It goes pretty much everywhere with us.  He pulls it out of his crib through out the day and will carry it around with him all over the house.  He will lay down where ever and cuddle his blanket when he starts to get tired.

Photobucket

A couple of weeks ago Kamden had a one day mysterious fever.  We spent the entire day like this... with his blanket on my shoulder and him snuggled on it.  He loves rubbing the blanket on his cheeks.

Photobucket

We spring cleaned all of Zenock's toys and gave some away.  Zenock was not too happy when we finally did give them away (he was fine when we were putting them in the bag) and so we went to Target and I let him pick out something to replace all that he gave away.  He chose this little stuffed dog.  Kamden adored it and would give it loves anytime Zenock set it down.  When he left for preschool Kamden knew it was his.  We finally went back to Target and bought one for Kamden.  It is a new favorite that he sleeps with, cuddles with, loves and gives kisses to and holds it up for us to give kisses to.  I love how sweet my boys are.

Photobucket

Kamden has never been one to watch tv... he doesn't do it.  We finally found something he will watch.  The Baby Einstein Farm movie.  He will watch it from beginning to end and shout out "Cow" whenever a cow or tractor comes on the screen.

My little Beethoven.  He loves the piano.  He will stand up on his stool 2-3 times a day and play the piano for us.

Photobucket

He loves wearing Moms shoes, jewelry, and accessories.  I'm always finding him in my closet going through drawers.  He insists on wearing my necklaces through out church and gets mad if I try and take them away.  He's one.  It's cute. =)

Not really a favorite, but I love this picture.  Kamden just learned to fold his arms for prayers.  Just in time for Nursery.  He has been going into Nursery for the last couple of weeks.  He has done great!  I definitely think it is me that isn't ready for him to grow up and not be my baby.  It just makes me sad... I seriously wish I could keep him little forever.  He is such a sweet boy.

We are loving this moment in life just being with our boys, enjoying their personalities, and watching them grow. =)
