Sunny Skies Ahead...

I promised myself to post some fun pictures before it was Zenock's Birthday and end up having to post these and birthday all at once... I'm cutting it close. :)

I don't know whether to cry or laugh thinking that exactly three years ago tonight I was sitting in the Theatre when my water broke and I started this "WILD" adventure called parenthood.

I wouldn't trade it for anything. I couldn't be more blessed to have my sweet little Zenock. He has taught me more than I could have ever learned on my own. I love being a Mom... especially his Mom. How can one girl get so lucky. :)

We have been super busy lately. It seems we have been running errands, preparing for daily events, and organizing parties. It's been a fun week and it is only getting started.

Friday night we had our ward's Youth BBQ and dessert auction/fundraiser for camp. I don't remember ever doing or hearing about this in Utah, but it was SO much fun. You get to by tickets to the BBQ (which is catered and oh so good!) and then you bring a dessert to auction off. I made my Mom's Fresh Strawberry Pie.... (mmm.. SO GOOD!) I was pretty dang excited when it sold for $35.00!!!

There are some talented chef's in my ward who made professional cakes... I think the highest bid was for around $55. We were told there was a lot to choose from this year so bids didn't go as high, but some years they go for as high as 75-100 dollars! Seriously!

We have also been spending every moment we can out in the sun! :) It has been beautiful! Zenock and I head out every day after naps to go feed our ducks and then play outside. I swear the ducks know Zenock's voice and as soon as he walks up and yells, "Come on Ducks! I got food!" They swim across the pond and literally snap the bread out of his fingers... It scares the crap out of me.

I love having a "HOUSE" and being able to play on my own grass and run around the house with Zenock.

We also went on a fun little Easter Egg Hunt at our friends house on Saturday.

There were four little boys all the same age. It was so cute to watch them all play and to see who was the most "into" finding the eggs. :)

Zenock's FULL, overflowing Easter basket. :)

Zenock got the hang of the "hunt" pretty quick.

He knew what to do as soon as one of those eggs cracked open and there was treats inside.

Usually you carry the basket... but, sometimes it's just easier to drop the basket and grab armfuls to carry to your basket. :)

The cheetos were a coveted treat...

Cute Mase taking a drink after working hard at hunting for eggs. :)

Time to sit down and check out the goods....

Our friends have this totally amazing backyard that they have done themselves! To be honest, I would call them landscaping geniuses. :) Zenock LOVES there little pond and waterfall. Every time we go over there (starting with the day our friends watched him while we signed our closing papers on our house.) he drenches himself with water and ends up sitting in the pond.

It wasn't any different this time, he just thought he would help Mom out and not get his clothes wet, so he started stripping down. It was pretty funny when he couldn't get his buttons undone enought to pull the shirt over his head and tried to enlist the help of Mason to get his shirt off.

It was such a fun afternoon! We had a blast! Thanks for hosting Anderson's. :)

Sunday I let Zenock wear his new Easter tie for church, but told him we had to take a picture for Grandma... I got this for about two seconds. He hates when "I" take his picture.

This is usually what I get. :)

Happy, HAPPY Birthday (in a few hours) my little LOVE bug.

random wednesday :)

I swear I always have a million random thoughts running through my head.
Anything from a craft idea or what I'm going to make for dinner or wishing excitedly it was June already so that my Mom and sisters could come visit!
These thoughts often hit me when my head hits the pillow. It doesn't matter how tired I am I honestly lay there for hours just thinking.
I don't mind it at all... (until I have to get up the next morning). I love just being able to sit and think and let my mind wander. It drives my husband crazy... especially when I do it while he's trying to talk to me. :)

Here's to randomness...

We had a fun weekend.
The sun was shining, which makes everything a hundred times better.
was the official beginning of March Madness.
JC mysteriously got sick and stayed home.
We watched our teams...
Realized we are closet BYU fans -
(Mainly, because they are from Utah and so are we, so living outside of Utah it becomes a requirement to get excited and root for anything about Utah...)
Got that?
We sort of and may have yelled at our tv like they could hear us and we were crazy fans. :)

We then went to a friends house for a delicious dinner (more basketball) and my chocolate peanut butter bars with vanilla bean ice cream.

We had friends over on Friday for a play date. We went on a walk to visit the ducks and played outside all morning! We even got a little sunburned! :)
We have such a fun ward and Zenock has so many little friends just his age. His friend Parker who came to play is just 4 days younger than him. It must have been something in the air the week they were born, because they both have the same spunky personality. His Mom and I just sit and laugh at them, because they do everything the same. He has a little brother that is so cute, calm, and sweet. We love play dates with these cute boys! Love their Mom too. She has become my black friday shopping partner, reliever of insanity, and co-hostess of parties partner.
Friday afternoon we had the missionaries over for dinner.
One of them was new and as I was asking him questions, I noticed his name tag...
"Elder Stansfield"
I knew already who he had to be, but asked anyway... "Are you related to the author?"
...It's his Mom.
Anita Stansfield is his Mom!
To say the least I was beyond excited... (JC asked me if I wanted a picture with him and his autograph. I didn't want to seem too eager, so I denied.)
JC made the comment to me later... "You are so going to blog about this, aren't you." It wasn't a question. He knows me way too well. :)
If you don't know who she is, well, then, you really should. :)
She's an LDS author, a romance novelist. Love her books.
I started reading them back in 7/8th grade when my Grandma introduced them to me. After which, every time she would get a new book and had finished reading it, she would bring it over to me and my Mom. I would then spend the rest of the day/night reading the book and my Mom would spend the next day/night reading it. Staying up ALL night if we had to.
I met JC in the Summer and we spent every day/evening together all Summer long. Every day... except for one... I was reading one of her books. :) JC still reminds me of the night I ditched him. I'll never hear the end of it.
I loved the adventures she has taken me on. In return... I fed her son. :)
We ended our night with a drive around town with the windows and sun roof open eating ice cream cones.
Perfect Day.
The sun was shining on Saturday too...
We played outside.
We were in the midst of basketball madness.
A pretty big deal at our house.
My bracket hasn't done so well... pretty sure I lost.
Zenock and I went to the store and picked up Birthday Invitations and decorations...
I felt guilty for not throwing him a party.
So I'll categorize myself as a last minute party planner at the moment.
We are excited, HE {Zenock} is beyond excited and can't wait for his BIG party.
I ended the night hanging out and eating yummy treats with 15 other women in my ward watching New Moon. (Love my Ward. :)
I was one of THREE girls who hadn't seen it yet.
I kid not, when I say there were moments of pausing and rewinding to "discuss" the movie.
There was lots of laughter and dare I say a few squeals... (not from me.. seriously.)
I was once a little obsessed... I admit. BUT, since then, it has become over talked about, over commercialized, and Edward's face is on every teenage girl's wall and t-shirt in the store- It got a little old for me. It wasn't as fun. I liked it, because it was different to like at the time.
Is that weird?
It was a fabulous weekend.

We woke up to snow on Monday... I left the blinds closed and stayed in pajamas most of the day. I'm so ready for warm sunny days... every day!
We have so many fun things planned in the next few weeks...
{I'm still craving and holding out for my Mom's potato salad on Easter.}
Birthdays, Easter, picnics, egg hunts, get together's, bbqueing, an anniversary, and sunshine!
Can you feel the dreary days of winter leaving and the excitement of spring/summer ahead? My neighborhood is full of people actually outside... done hibernating for the winter.
It makes me so excited.
Have a splendid day. :)

Yesterday while cleaning our tub, I poured bleach in it and turned on the jets to clean them out. Zenock aka my cleaning sidekick/buddy was right there watching and was in awe/amazement at all the bubbles it created.

He wanted to jump right on in and I literally had to use force to stop him.

So last night we headed to Target for some Bubble Bath to use in the tub. :)

(Why in the world have I never thought of this simple fun activity!!! We used to do it all the time when we were little.)

As we were leaving Target Zenock fell asleep before exiting the parking lot... result of no nap yesterday.

This morning when he got up, he didn't forget about his bubbles we bought and his first words were...

"I KNOW! How about a Bubble Bath!"

So Bubble Bath we did. :)

We also had a five minute conversation with a random stranger in Target last night about his new Mickey Mouse underwear.

I love that he has no inhibitions!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

(You'll find us watching Darby O'Gill tonight... our annual family tradition.:)

Two Weeks and Counting...

Until he turns three that is...
I could cry when I think about it. In fact I have often in the last month or so.
I've been catching up on our scrapbooking and just finished another book. (My excuse for not blogging. :)
Looking back over all his pictures and the amazing fun filled three years it has been has been wonderful.
I could not love my little boy more. He is such a blessing and a joy in our lives. He teaches us daily how to be good parents and shows us an endless amount of love. We are so lucky.
JC and I both agree he is at the funnest age right now.
He is so sweet and says the most hilarious things.
We love that he still cuddles us or lets us cuddle him. Every morning he and I get to cuddle on the couch for half an hour and watch Mickey Mouse. I LOVE and treasure those moments knowing that all too soon, one day, he will be leaving me in the early morning going to school or telling me he's too big to cuddle. :)
He has gotten so big lately.
Potty trained... even going by himself in Nursery. He is so independent.
The other day I wasn't feeling good and was laying next to JC on the couch. He came over to me and gave me a kiss and patted my cheek and started singing Rock a Bye baby.
It can't get much better than that.
I love being his Mom.
He often sings to me... All day long I get to hear his cute voice. He won't let us video him singing, but we finally captured it on my phone. We'll be making a fun cd of him soon. :)
We had every intention of celebrating BIG and throwing a BIG party for him with all of his new friends. The ideas were brewing in my head around Thanksgiving time to go along with his Peter Pan obsession. BUT, due to laziness :) we have decided to celebrate in a different way.
We are spending the day with our little guy...
We'll celebrate the old fashioned way - as a family. :)
Enjoying his first ever Big Screen/Movie Theatre experience
as well as some other fun surprises!
Followed up with his favorite treat in the world...
Birthday Cake.
Every night when we eat dinner, he grabs a cake mix from the pantry and asks me if we can make it... (I never say no to treats, but for the past few weeks, I've told him no - he has to wait for his Birthday!)

Not to mention Easter weekend is two days after his BIG day. More fun and time to spoil our favorite little boy.

Who doesn't love Easter?!?

All I can think about is my Mom's (would be world famous if you ever tried it) potato salad.

I don't even come close to making it to perfection like she can, but it is still pretty darn good.

We are getting so darn excited for Summer... (and sunshine!)

It never stops raining here!

The sun came out a couple of weekends ago and we enjoyed our 70 degree weather at the park.

It was LOVELY!

We found the best park near our house. It has a huge playground with so many different play areas. Not to mention the walking/jogging trails... Oh! The Walking Trails! This park just might be our best friend this Summer. :)

Zenock had a blast. We were there for over an hour and didn't do everything.

He loved this little racecar.

And the Teeter Totters with Dad.

We are ready for lots of playtime outside...

If only the sunshine would last longer than a day around here.

There is SO much to look forward too. :)

New Look...

Pretty sure I am just plain sick of looking at my blog and seeing the same thing everyday.
as I'm sure you were too.

So that means a new post.

But in all honesty... I have nothing new to mention.

So here's to randomness...

I LOVE reading CJane... She is like my morning newspaper. I am always amazed with how she can come up with daily (sometimes more than daily) stories and creative, humorous, and inspirational things to say.

We are SO sick of Winter and ready for Spring.

I'm on my third cold for this winter.

It snowed yesterday and I am so sick of opening my blinds to dreary dark weather. Today I just shut them again. It wasn't worth it. I can't wait to open the blinds and let the sun SHINE on in. (And actually have it WARM outside.)

I could have sworn I moved to the South to get away from SNOW.

Everyone in our Ward tells us this is an "unusual" winter. It's normally 60 degrees all February long.

We haven't seen above 40!!!

I don't leave the house in cold weather (unless I absolutely have to.) We have become somewhat of hermits for the last month.

I think the end might be in sight though....

The weatherman predicts SEVENTY for the weekend!

In preparation... I decorated for Spring. :)

WE made it through February glued to the tv. Watching our favorite Olympians and every Olympic sport we could watch. We stayed up WAY too late watching medal ceremonies and cheering our team USA on.

Even Zenock got in on the action and would yell at the tv with us...

"Go, Go, GO, GOOO!!!"

Now we are going through Olympic withdrawls and end up in bed around 9:30.

We honestly need some sort of hobby. :)
