Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day...
Not because I get spoiled - because trust me I don't.
I don't even pretend to think that I will. :)
You see my husband seems to think it's a candy/card money making day.
I'll agree.
BUT,
You got to have something fun to break up the dreary month of February and look forward to.
So I say,
CELEBRATE.
Which is what we do for a whole 14 days leading up to Valentine's Day.
{Just a side note... I have to give my husband some credit. We do celebrate Christmas, My Birthday, Valentines Day, and our Anniversary all within four months of eachother. It can be a little overwhelming... even for me.}

Photobucket
We had lots of fun making Valentine's for Grandparents this year.
Zenock gets so excited when we pull out the craft box with all the art supplies. He goes into full on concentration mode.

Photobucket
He also loved receiving all the fun cards and packages from Grandma's/Grandpa's and cousins.

Photobucket
Grandma Reeder knows him well... Toy Story pjs and "chocolate treats." Yup, that face on the above right picture is for the chocolate... He has his Mom's sweet tooth.

Photobucket
Unfortunately, they had to be put up at some point... Zenock is pretty darn good at negotiating and asking for just "TWO more please, MOM."

Photobucket
Zenock and I also had a fun day making cookies for Dad.
What is the deal with not being able to resist pink frosted heart shaped cookies.
AND, why is it they always taste so much better!?!

VALENTINE'S DAY

Photobucket

Some might say it is ridiculous to celebrate the holiday or even provide a gift for your child...

How could you not when you get to see this excited face running around the corner. :)

Photobucket

OR this face.

Photobucket

We don't do much... Just a treat, a fun breakfast, and a little gift.

Something to make a fun day.

Photobucket

This year he got the real 101 Dalmations movie. He was pretty excited.

AND,

Since we all decided to come down with colds Friday before Valentine's and they lasted through out the weekend, we enjoyed a nice dinner out on Monday followed up with the Olympics!

Who doesn't love the Olympics!?!

My perfect kind of Valentine's date.

Greatest Show on Earth...

We'll let you decide if you think it's the "greatest on earth..." Not sure if that is what we think, but we do love the Circus. It's a fun time and seeing your child happy/crazy isn't bad either.
We took Zenock to the Circus a few weekends ago...
To say he loved it wouldn't quite be the right words.
He went crazy... literally jumping up and down and out of his seat.
JC and I sat back laughing at how excited he was when the show started and the performers were parading out.
He has talked about it for the last two weeks and keeps asking us if we can go back to the circus.
He tells us,
"Mom, The Circus was so fun, huh! It was awesome!"

Photobucket

Before the show begins you can go early and go down on the floor and meet the clowns and watch a few of the acts up close.

Photobucket

The stilt walkers are crazy and will dance and walk right over the top of you.

Photobucket

Zenock loved watching the elephant paint a picture.

Photobucket

We invited our friends to join us! We were glad they did!

Having Mase there made it even more exciting and fun for Zenock.

Photobucket

Eating popcorn... watching the show.

He has a major obsession with popcorn. He can eat an entire bowl by himself and asks for it constantly.

Photobucket

Zenock was seriously a ball of energy... he never stopped. I tried to take at least ten pictures of him looking at me... Not one worked out.

Some of the shows events!

On our way to the car we bought Zenock a cowboy hat... (the Circus' theme this year as well as he wanted one like Woody (from Toy Story.))

As he was running/skipping down the hall- he was waving his hat in the air yelling "YEE HAW!"

It was dang cute and made JC and I laugh.

We sure love our little cowboy.

It was such a fun day. :)

Flying!

Not much going on around here lately... :)
Same ol'... same ol'
We have been busy with our day to day activities.
We did get out a few weeks ago and went to the Park to fly Zenock's Buzz Lightyear kite.
He is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear.
He has Toy Story2 memorized...
And walks around the house saying... "NO, I'm Buzz Lightyear!"
Is it sad that we are really looking forward to the 3rd one coming out in June!?!

Photobucket

JC thought it would be a nice/calming/relaxing outing for our family...
My question was... Is anything ever calming or relaxing with a TWO year old???

Photobucket

It was fun watching these two in action.

Photobucket

I love this little guy lately.
We have had lots of fun hanging out with eachother, trying to find activities to keep us busy during these dark, dreary, winter months. :)

Photobucket

He surprises my everyday with how much he knows, remembers, and understands.

Photobucket

One of my favorite things are his prayers which he has insisted on saying "ALL by himself" lately. Nothing is as sweet or more tender to parents than hearing there child's prayer.
His go something like this...
"Heavenly Father...
Thank You for this day.
Thank You for Church.
Thank You for Sister and Brother Borden
(his nursery leaders.)
Help Rachel to not bite me...
(The little girl in nursery who bit him for stealing her toy. :)
I love you so much.
Name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
When we try to help him or slip in something else to be blessed, he tells us, "NO, Mom, You do not help me."

Photobucket

He is our joy. We love him so much.
That is until JC tells him to not let go of the kite and he looks up at his Dad, smiles, and does what any two year old would do.... He Lets Go.
Off went Buzz Lightyear.
We thought he might float down, but 10 minutes later we were standing there COLD and watching him fly higher and higher.
We finally left, hoping that Buzz would "eventually" find a good home.

The Circus is coming to town this weekend! I'm not a huge fan of Circus atmosphere, but the show is pretty cool and Zenock loved it last year. I'm excited to see his big smile when he sees the Elephants and Tigers. :)
