She MaDe iT!

I can't believe my little (taller... by 7 inches!) sister is graduating tomorrow!!! Congrats Melissa!
This girl absolutely amazes me! She has so much motivation, determination, and drive to do anything she puts her mind to. (I seriously think all of my motivation was given to her.) Unlike me she knows exactly what she wants to do, where she wants to go, and has a list of things she wants to accomplish a mile long. She has been involved in so many things the last few years, she is never home and is always on the go. She is very ambitious, outgoing, and such a fun person to be around. The two of us have seriously had our fair share of fights... probably too many of them. :) BUT... she is one of my best friends! I can always count on her for anything as well as a good laugh and a fun time. This girl does not take no for an answer and as a family we like to say she has never really learned the meaning of the word. Melissa and I are probably complete opposites... If I don't know you I am pretty quiet and it takes a lot for me to put myself out there, but not her. She is everyone's best friend... and she truly means and trys to be your friend. I have heard her get hurt time after time, but I have never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She just picks herself right back up and brushes it off. She is so thoughtful and would do anything for a friend in need.
Can we also say genius... this girl has an amazing social life, (a date at least once a week) and has amazing grades. She has full tuition from different scholarships for Utah State where she will be attending this fall. She was lucky enough to earn the Huntsman Scholarship this year, which is a new scholarship and is pretty prestigious (sp) from what I understand. It pays for her to do study abroad... not once, but TWICE! Lucky girl!
Meliss is also GORGEOUS!!! I was so jealous of her natural curly locks when I was little. People used to come up to us in the store and tell my mom how cute she was and then they would look at me (who just happened to be at the dorky 7-8 yr old tom boy stage) and keep on talking or walk away! SO, watch out boys... here she comes! Anyone want to set up a date? This girl is gonna go places! :)
I was supposed to come home for her graduation, but things just didn't work out as planned. I am so sad that I can't be there for her. BUT, I just wanted to tell her Congrats and we are so excited and proud of her! We can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
We LOVE ya Mel!!!

Dallas vs Salt Lake

We have had a minor hurricane come through recently... Hurricane Zenock that is! This kid is crazy... he is everywhere... and into everything! He is always on the go and always wants us to be on the go with him. Some of his new tricks are:
*Pointing at things he sees
*Still yelling at everyone, especially any animal he sees
*He is starting to run... Fast!
*When he gets in trouble he runs and hides behind things, but will then come out and give us hugs
*Says stop and don't... They usually are mixed together and it comes out as "Dopt!"
*He can do the actions to Monkeys jumping on the bed
*Loves to be outside and brings me his shoes when he wants to go outside
*Always wants us to play with him and is always tugging on our pants to pull us down to chase him... He loves to be chased!
*Is always getting into something... especially the things he is not supposed to get in
*Loves to go swimming. (We took him yesterday and he was laughing and loving it the whole time! He even took a 2 1/2 hour nap when we got home... looks like I have a new secret weapon:)
*Loves, loves, loves popcicles! Just like his dad. :)
They are always sharing popcicles with each other. (We have gone through 48 of them in ONE week!) These two have a passion. They can go through at least 5 in one sitting! I usually have to tell them to stop!
We had planned a trip to Dallas this past weekend with friends and thought it would be fun to go down early and take Zenock to the Zoo. Can we just say HOT! It was over 100 degrees PLUS whatever the humidity was.... I hate humidity! I really wasn't too impressed with the Zoo. In fact I think it was smaller than the Hogle Zoo. The animals were all too hot to come out and play. There were a couple of monkeys that were swinging and showing off that Zenock just loved! He would watch them with big eyes and turn and look at us and start laughing and talking and then turn back and just watch in amazement! It was too cute.

In the Children's part of the zoo they had this little water playground that the kids could wade in to cool off. Zenock was a little hesitant at first, but then he loved it. He wanted to just sit down and just splash in the water!

They had lots of fun animals for the kids to pet in the Children's Zoo.
It was so cute to watch him with the animals.

NILE crocodiles

"Missy" the chimpanzee

As we were walking out of the Zoo, we looked down to see Zenock leaning out of the stroller. We thought he was looking at something and found out he was sound asleep!

If you know JC you know he is a total Baseball fanatic. He is crazy about baseball. Especially his favorite team the LA Dodgers! He even watched the Bachelorette with me last night, just because one of the dates was at Dodger Stadium! So you might wonder what we were doing at a soccer game.... JC hasn't gone completely crazy, but he has a new found love for watching soccer. He watches the soccer channel all the time... (he says it helps him sleep). I'll be honest, it sure helps me to sleep. I'm not a soccer fan. This is all coming from a person who told my little sister Emily (who is an amazing soccer player!) that she shouldn't play the game, because it was a communist sport! So... this one is for you Em!

The whole reason we were in Dallas was to go to the game with friends. One of our good friends, Shaun loves soccer as well and invited us to go to the game with them. So after the Zoo we met up with Mike, Heidi, & Mason, & Shaun and Krystal. We enjoyed a Yummy dinner at Uncle Julio's (one of our favorite places to eat... introduced to us by my cousin), and then on to the game!

Can we just say these games are crazy! The fans are nuts! I sure wasn't complaining when FC Dallas made a goal and the guy ripped his shirt off... neither were any of the 1,000 other screaming fans. I had Zenock asleep almost twice... both times they decided to make a goal!

The final score was Dallas 2, Salt Lake 1... It was too bad they lost, but we sure enjoyed spending the time together as a family!

My cute boys watching the game! Thanks for a fun weekend!

**Does anyone know how to get rid of the double spacing in your blog?? It only happens half way through my blog! It drives me crazy. :)

A weekend of PaRTy!

My little boy is getting SO independent! I knew this stage had to come and I know it will get even worse, but I want to cry sometimes when I see how big he is getting. He is always wandering around the house looking for something to get into. His room has become a "safe" zone. After a complete remodel of his room when he started walking, there is now nothing he can't get into. He will wander in there and play forever by himself.... SO nice for me. I try to go in and play with him or read him books, but he wants nothing to do with me. He'll come find me if he needs something. My favorite is to watch him read his books. He turns them upside down and just talks away as if he is really reading them. I try and read to him every morning, but lately whenever I try to read one, he pulls it away from me and starts yelling at me... so much for reading and teaching. They grow so fast! It amazes me how much he understands.
Reading "his" books
Zenock loves to play chase and is always looking over his shoulder to make sure you are really chasing him. The other day I hid behind the counter during one of our chases and when he came to find me I jumped out... He was scared to death for a second and then he would burst into laughter. He kept coming back for more.... until dad got home. I tried to show JC what we were doing and he got so scared and everytime I would disappear he would run to JC and cling onto him. He wouldn't come near the counter. SO.. we might have to wait a little while to do that one again.

Zenock also got immunized this week. I felt so bad for him. This time they had to do a blood test and draw blood. It took four of us to hold him down. I couldn't stand it!!! I just wanted to pick him up and run outside to hold him and cry with him.... It was horrible!
His stats are:
Weight: 21 lbs. 6 oz. .... 20%
Length: 31 1/4 in .... 75%
Head: 18 in. .... 25%
The nurses were so surprised by how tall he is! Especially for having two short parents. JC's dreams of having a basketball player just might come true. :)
It has been quite the last couple of weeks! Finals are Finally over... Yeah! Zenock and I didn't get to see JC much over the last two weeks. This semester has been pretty grueling for him. I have never seen him study or work so hard. We sure are proud of him! One more Summer to go and then we are done with school! (I can't wait!) To kick off our no homework weekend we were able to attend our little friend Conner's 2nd Birthday Party friday night. Now that the weather is getting hotter we are spending more of our time with friends and being outside. We love getting together and having a PaRTy! Our house has become the official Utah JAZZ party house. (I think we are the only one's with cable. :) We love having people over that share our same love and passion for the Utah Jazz. We hope they do good this week!
Saturday our 2nd Counselor in our ward invited us and the other "fellows" out to their house for a BBQ and some fun. It was the perfect day! We had SO much fun! Thank You McCormack Family!

Enjoying our time together!

**(Excuse the windblown hair look... JC had me on the 4-wheeler within 15 minutes after we arrived.)

Zenock, JC, & Brynlee

(The area we were at was so green and beautiful! There were tons of trees! At one point during the night JC was having too much fun and accidently hit a squirrel or a "chippunk." We will spare you the pictures... )

They even had 4-wheelers for the kids! (Isaac, Jaxson, & Kaitlyn)

Enjoying friends and the GOOD food!

Taking the kids on a little ride.

Heidi, Mike, & Mason

They had this cutest game for the kids to play called, "Tag Tails." It is Tag, but when you tag somebody you have to pull their tail off. (Everyone wears a different animal tail.) I loved watching Zenock run around with his little "tail."

One last ride for a "perfect day!"

I think JC could have lived out there. He was in heaven... I even had to remind him he needed to "share" the 4-wheelers... We had SO much fun!

Happy Mother's Day

We just wanted to tell our mom's (and all the wonderful women, grandma's, friends, etc.) in our life to have a
Happy Mother's Day!
Our Mom's are amazing and we appreciate all that they do for us! A couple of years ago for Christmas my mom gave me a book called "Heaven's Touch, A Tribute to Women" It has pictures by Greg Olsen throughout the book with thoughts, scriptures, and quotes. Just a couple of my favorite's are:
"Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels." -James R. Clark
"Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother's image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child's mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world." -David O. McKay
"I have learned to place a high estimate upon the love of mother. I have often said, and will repeat it, that the love of a true mother comes nearer being like the love of God than any other kind of love." -Joseph F. Smith
Needless to say, I LOVE this book, I love being a mom, and I love having wonderful "mom's" in my life.
We LOVE you!

(These are the only pictures I could find of our mom's... they always seem to be the one's taking the pictures or they are in the background - behind the scenes working!)

The picture above is from Zenock's blessing day! My mom helped me so much when Zenock was born. I had no idea what to do or what was going on... she was always there for me, right by my side, helping me. I can't imagine life without my mom... even if she lives so far away! She is my best girl friend and I love being able to call her anytime and talk to her about anything. I am so blessed and lucky to have a mom like her.

I am also blessed to have such a wonderful mother in law, who is so caring and thoughtful. JC is the person he is because of her. We love her so much! (I love this picture... another one from our wedding for those of you who loved the other one's :). JC looks so young! Did you ever wonder where he got his good looks from??)

Happy Mother's Day!

And this is how you play...

Patty CaKe!

This week Zenock learned how to play patty cake all by himself! He now does it on demand. He gets so excited and is so proud of himself.

He is such a genius... He even learned how to play patty cake with his feet!

His favorite would be teaching US patty cake. He gets so excited when he can clap our hands together and then he will stand up and clap for us... totally imitating how we get excited and clap for him.

Taking a rest with Tip Top. He loves this little giraffe. They do everything together!
Zenock has been so much fun this week, despite his one day of a 103 degree temperature!!! (We took him to the dr. and they said it was just a sore throat... He was all better the next day. :) We are loving this age and watching Zenock learn new things. Every day is something new!
