Tempers and Tantrums...

Zenock loves his toys and loves to sing and bounce up and down to the music. He plays so well by himself. Whenever we sit down to watch a movie, we usually end up watching him put on a show rather than the movie!

Zenock has had a huge growth spurt in the last month or so. He has gotten SO big and even clothes that he got for Christmas don't fit him anymore. He is cruising the furniture and can even stand on his own for a second. I'm sure it won't be long until he is walking! Where has my sweet baby gone?? He has also developed quite the little temper this week and is full of tantrums! I'm not sure what it is, but he is having major parent anxiety. JC and I will be playing with him and walk into the kitchen or bedroom and Zenock will start screaming... and this isn't just a little scream, it sounds like he could have just broke an arm or something. He will be crawling after us as fast as he can with big huge tears streaming down his face. As soon as we pick him up in go the fingers and the tears stop! Amazing! He has also decided he hates his diaper being changed and throws huge tantrums when I change it. (This can be quite the ordeal in the middle of the night!) How do we help this?? Any advice?? He has also been grinding his teeth lately... Has anyone else had kids that do this? It sounds like he is going to grind them away!

(If you click on this picture to make it bigger... you can see his four little teeth!)

JC has Zenock's future all planned out... High School sports, college sports, and Pro Athlete by the time he is 20! Check out the quality of that basketball... The other day, JC told me he needed a new basketball. We went to Target and they just didn't have the right kind. They were $20 dollars and I was thinking that was kind of high. Well, we went to a sports store and I told JC to just run in and look and I would stay in the car with Zenock. When he came out he stuffed the receipt in his mouth and wouldn't give it to me. When I finally got a good look at it, I about died! The basketball cost $60!!! That is one nice basketball you are looking at! JC's excuse for buying it was that it will last forever and Zenock will be playing with it someday. Haha! Sooner than later. He loves it! JC is testing it out tonight on the court... we will have to see what everyone thinks about it. JC's schedule changed this week and he now gets home everyday at 12:30! This week has been so nice to have him home. We have instituted family nap time every day at 1:00. We'll see how long it lasts... For now Zenock and I are loving all the time that we get to spend with him.

Tagged I'm It! I've been Tagged!!!
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: I was in 8th grade... I think?? I was obsessing over the boy on my volleyball team in P.E. Wearing white glitter eye shadow and foundation on my lips. (HA!) and just trying to fit in.

5 things on my to-do list today: Well since it is almost 9:00... I'll work on tomorrow. 1. Try and find time to get ready. 2. Go to the store and get lime sherbet and gingerale for JC's work party. 3. Play with Zenock and read to him. 4. Call my mom and finish our conversation. 5. Tell JC and Zenock I love them!

I enjoy: Being with my boys, napping with Zenock, eating, shopping, reading, decorating, digital scrapbooking... (when I ever have a free moment. This darn blogging thing takes up all my free time!)

What would I do if I were suddenly made abillionaire: Buy a house, a Honda pilot for me and a hummer for JC, Take a long vacation, College/wedding/mission funds, and Invest, Invest, Invest!

3 of my bad habits: Not answering my phone or returning phone calls. Procrastination. Not emptying the dishwasher.

3 favorite snacks: Home made oreos.. love 'em! Chips & Salsa from El Matador... (How I miss them!) Push-up pops!

5 places I have lived: Harper Ward, St. George, Santa Clara, Brigham City, Texarkana

5 jobs I have had: Fruitstand, OshKosh B'Gosh, Secretary, Paralegal, and MOM!

5 Things people don't know about me: I'm obsessive compulsive over germs and cleaning my house. I'm a shopaholic. I worry over little situations and things. My hair is starting to go curly from the humidity. I'm really bad at coming up with these...

I tagged: I think everyone has done this one... so if you haven't, consider yourself tagged!

Crazy little thing called Love...

My baby is sick again! Poor little guy... we don't even go anywhere for him to get sick. It's just a runny nose this time though. I will be SO glad when the cold weather is gone as well as all the sicknesses that come with the season. Since he was sick, I didn't get any pictures of him this week. I will do better this coming week. He has been SO cute lately. He sure thinks he is funny. The other night we were laying in the lovesac watching a movie and Zenock wasn't ready to sleep yet, so he was just playing with toys next to us. All of a sudden he popped his head up at the bottom of the lovesac and started laughing. He kept growling at us and then he would cover his mouth and laugh, because he thought he was SO funny. It was the best little show I have seen in a long time.
Monday was my Birthday... It was such a great day. I had so many friends and family call me. (Thank You!) My CUTE-FUN friends down here made me an incredible lunch! It is fun to have time to chat with them. We then went to dinner with friends and my CUTE husband and baby. This is a picture of my birthday present... as well as my Christmas present... (Story below.)
JC told me that he was getting me something I might not like for Christmas... This is what he got me. I thought it was all a joke, but I think he was serious. I put them on and didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I was trying really hard to like them. In the end, I took them back and traded them for really cute black church shoes. I just can't see myself wearing teddy bears on my feet... especially when I am 24 years old! Not only that, but the shoes are seriously made from the same fabric as a couch my parents had when I was little. SO... for my birthday... JC told me that my present wasn't in yet and that he ordered it and would go pick it up on Tuesday. I was SO excited! I thought he was getting me something BIG or at least flowers. Well... guess what I got... again! I am beginning to think that he really likes them. Can I take them back again?? I LOVE my husband! I love him for his sense of humor and for the wonderful person that he is! The things we do for love...

Nine Months and Eleven Days...

I can't believe my little boy is 9 months old! They honestly grow up so fast. Zenock had his checkup yesterday and here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs 1 oz (25%)
Length: 28 inches (45%)
Head: 18 inches (55%)
We have been a little behind on his shots, so he also got to have his 6 month shots. Not fun! This morning he woke up and was burning up, but after a few doses of Tylenol, I think he is feeling better. Zenock has been in hyper-active-super mode lately. He is in and out of things and places so quick that I can't keep up with him. I just follow him around the house cleaning up his messes. How do you all that have more than one do it??? You are AMAZING in my book!
Here are some other favorites of our little boy at 9 months!
Food: Grahm Crackers, Cheese, & Klondike bars :)
Toys: Door Stoppers, Remote Controls, Cell Phones, & Shoes
Book: His busy baby books
Movie: Baby Einstein, "Baby's First Moves"
Activities: Standing up to something and yelling at us from across the room because he can't get down. Helping mom. Going on walks. Wrestling with dad, his duck, or elmo.
This is one of those rare times that Zenock is actually sleeping... once again he fell asleep trying to stand up.
I thought this was so funny... he wanted nothing to do with the toys or the basket, he just thought it was fun to be under the table.
The other day I kept hearing this "Bing" noise, when I walked out I found Zenock playing with the door stopper. He played with it for 10 minutes and would just chuckle when it would spring back and forth.
This is my little boy that loves to help his mommy. No matter what I'm doing, he is right there with me. (I sure hope he will be as helpful when he gets older. :)

Standing Up!

Ok, so I have to apologize for being home a week and not blogging about Christmas. But, I figured since most of you saw Zenock while we were it Utah that you wouldn't mind. I have also been extremely busy this week. Zenock is making up for time away from home and being sick. In the last week he has learned to stand up in his crib and is into everything... All I have done is chase him and play with him. New Years Eve we put him to bed and he started crying about an hour later. When I went in to check on him he was standing up! I was shocked! JC and I had plans for New Years, but since we were so tired from our trip we cancelled them and were just going to relax. So we spent our New Years Eve lowering Zenock's crib. We both just laughed and decided there was no other place we would rather be than there at that moment. When I called to tell my mom and dad, they were so disappointed that he couldn't do it while he was there.Zenock definately caught the hang of standing up... he does it every time that he wants out now. It is usually accompanied with "Mum, Mum or Da, Da."
We had to take this picture. The other day we walked in to check on Zenock during his nap and this is what we found. (Zenock is sound asleep!) He pulls himself up to the bumper and then the rail when he stands up. He kind of fell asleep in the process.
Even though I bought Zenock lots of new movies for Christmas, he still prefers his Baby Einstein, "Baby's First Moves" video the best. He watches it every day. He loves the Kangaroo puppet on the video.
I can't keep up with him and I feel like I need to just strap the camera to my belt.
He is officially pulling himself up to everything! I can't believe how big he is! In three months my baby turns one! Where did the time go?

Christmas 2007

What a Christmas! We had SO much fun in Utah visiting with all our family and friends, but we are sure glad to be home where it is somewhat warm again! Wednesday night before we left we decided to have "Christmas." Zenock did so well at opening his presents and being as excited as a 9 month old can be. He got so many fun new toys... (spoiled kid.) I think our favorite part was when he opened his new Tickle Me Elmo. We took it out of the box and when Elmo started to move, Zenock jumped in my arms and buried himself, because he was scared! It was so cute. The next day they came to an understanding much like he and the duck. He loves to play with Elmo now and can even turn him on. The funny thing is that he will wrestle and play with him until Elmo starts laughing and then Zenock will freeze and not move until Elmo stops. I am sad to say that we did not get any pictures of our Christmas here... we were so busy taking video of him.

This is Zenock with one of his new toys before we left. It is a little piano that has a big mirror and it plays lots of songs. He loves to sit and look at himself in the mirror and "dance, dance, dance."
Friday morning before we left for Utah I noticed that Zenock's top tooth was really swollen and black and blue. It stayed that way for most of our trip. His two bottom teeth also came through while we were in Utah! Let's just say he was a cranky baby for a lot of the time. On Thursday we also had to take him to the Emergency Room. He had been crying for over two hours and we had given him medicine and tried to calm him down, but nothing was working. (Zenock NEVER cries... even when he was really little. I think that was the longest I've ever heard him cry.) The doctor said they didn't know what it was except for maybe a viral infection. They gave him some Motrin and sent us home. The next day he had a temperature of 101 degrees! Poor guy! What a way to spend your vacation. He was trying SO hard to be happy and to play.

My mom gave Zenock this cute bear. He loved it! The expression on his face is... "ooooo!" (Another toy he can wrestle with!)

These are Zenock's cousins Malia and Haylee. They loved playing with Zenock. Zenock loved giving them hugs.

My brother came up from Southern Utah after Christmas to spend time with us. This is Zenock's bestest buddy and cousin Wyatt. (Can you believe they are only ten days apart?) Zenock couldn't wait another 5 weeks when he was born. He had to get here to be with Wyatt. They are so much fun to watch together.

Zenock loves to wrestle with his daddy!

This was the day that Zenock was so sick... he was trying so hard to play. Papa put him on the Zebra and he was trying so hard to play and to have fun. I was trying to get him to smile and singing his "bum bum" song - (the song we sing when we are changing his diaper to get him to hold still.) After I finished singing it he said his first word... "Bum Bum" It was so clear. We all just busted up laughing.

This is the day we left to go home. Zenock loves his Aunt Emily.

Zenock and Papa Reeder

Zenock was so cute. The whole trip he was trying to give hugs and loves to all of his cousins. This is him diving for Wyatt giving him hugs.

We really did enjoy our vacation... all except for our sick baby. I think we also gained ten pounds each! Christmas Eve my mom made an amazing dinner. (I really wish I could cook like she does!) We had turkey and honey baked ham and all the yummy salads and sides. We ate like royalty for the rest of the week! We went to the movies, ate, played with cousins, ate some more, visited with friends and family, and just enjoyed our time. JC and I have both realized that we do NOT miss the snow. Except for the humidity we love the weather down here! It snowed so much while we were in Utah. I didn't know if we were ever going to get home. Zenock did so well on the plane and slept the whole way there. He woke up for the last half hour of the flight on the way back. I think he was finally ready to be home. When we walked in our door at midnight he woke up instantly and it was like he new exactly where he was. He started smiling and wiggling out of his car seat. When I got him out, we walked into each room and he just laughed and squealed. It was so funny. We put him down and he went straight for his duck and toys. It was pretty rough trying to get him to go to sleep.

Zenock and The Duck...

The morning before we left on vacation, I was able to capture Zenock wrestling with his Duck. This is the duck that he loves! He is always so excited to play with it. They really are best buddies. :) I think Zenock is winning...

He finally figured out that I am holding an electronic device... the camera. The one thing he loves more than his duck are: cameras, remotes, & cell phones.
