So Close!

I took this picture about an hour ago and thought I would share it really quick. Zenock is so close to crawling. The picture doesn't show it very well, but he really is. It is so cute to see how hard he tries. Last night we made our first trip back to the hospital. Zenock has been sick the last couple of days and I guess it was a peace of mind trip. Everything was ok and we were out in less than an hour. JC and I both hated the feeling of going back. There are way too many emotions and memories involved walking into any hospital. On a side note... Zenock weighs 16 lbs! He has almost quadrupled his birth weight! It is my favorite time of year again... Fall and leaves! It is finally starting to feel like Fall down here. It is still pretty hot, but it has the Fall feeling. IT is also College Football season again... YAY! (Did anyone catch my sarcasm on that?) I am husbandless once again... at least on Saturdays.

My Obsession...

My obsession began early Sunday morning and will probably end sometime today. I have been lost in my own little world of Vampires... yes... vampires. Now let me explain. I have been reading the Twilight series this week and will finish the third book today. (I started the first one on Sunday). I can officially say I'm obsessed. I never thought I would read a book about Vampires.. just not my thing... let alone become obsessed. Here's how it started. Everyone kept telling me about these books and I was really skeptical. Vampires? Not for me. Last week JC and I went to the bookstore and I saw it for sale. It was only ten dollars, so I thought what the heck. I'll read the first one. I ended up being sick Sunday and Monday, so I started the first one Sunday morning and finished Monday morning. It was amazing! I couldn't put it down. I immediately went back to the bookstore and bought the next two! I would probably have finished yesterday, but I made myself clean my house... (for some reason, I have an obsession with cleaning as well.) Anyhow, I just wanted to let you all know if you haven't read the books, it is definately a must. They are the best books I have ever read. I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about why we are so addicted and we decided it has to be the adrenaline pumping through you as you read every page. They ARE that good. So don't be skeptical about the whole vampire thing... it's not what you think. Luckily, Zenock was so good this week and has just been playing and taking some great naps. We are so lucky to have him.

Time Goes By...

Time seems to go by so fast... You wouldn't think I had much to do, but it is amazing how much I do... even the little things take up so much time. Zenock is happy as ever. He learned how to kick and splash in the bathtub a couple weeks ago and absolutely loves it. He braces his hands against each side so he can kick harder. It is so funny to watch. I just sit and laugh. He also learned how to babble. There have been a few times at church when we can't seem to get him to be quiet. He loves music and is always singing to the music... in his own babbling way. He also learned to squeal recently, which always makes us laugh, because he does it at the funniest times. He is so close to sitting up on his own and wishes he could walk. I really think if he could follow me or his dad around he would be a very happy baby. I love going to get Zenock when he wakes up in the morning, he is usually just playing happily in his bed... sucking on his fingers. He always has a huge grin for me when I look over the side to say good morning. Last week I bought him a jumperoo (the kind that hangs from the doorway.) He loves it! He gets so excited. When we take him out and put him on our laps, he thinks he is still in it and just wants to jump. It is amazing how fast they learn and how much they learn in such a short amount of time. It is hard to think that it has already been six months since he was born. Time goes by so fast! JC and I are keeping busy. Yesterday we were able to attend EFA (Especially for Adults). It's like EFY, but for Adults. Our stake put it together and flew in a couple of speakers from BYU and BYU Idaho. It was such a great opportunity to just be able to take time to catch up and to build upon our faith. It was an all day event. We really enjoyed the time. It is such a blessing to be a part of the church and to be able to have the gospel and friends anywhere we go. We even ran into a Sumko from Perry. Her family is living in Shreveport. What a small world. A few weeks ago we went to the Quadrangle Festival here in Texarkana. It is a little town festival that supports the museums. One of the museums we went to was actually an old house called, The Ace of Clubs House. Legend has it that a man won a million dollars in a poker game by drawing the Ace of Clubs. He used his money to build this house which is in the shape of a club. It really wasn't too interesting, except for the woman who owned it later in life was quite the socialite. She liked to go out every night. In almost every bedroom her shoes were displayed. She had over 500! Some of them were really cute and very much in style. All of them were from Neiman Marcus. Her closet was amazing... it had a huge ceiling and shoe boxes were piled as far up as you could see. How would it be... 500 shoes! I thought I had a lot. Well, it's bathtime for Zenock again and he is getting impatient, so I better hurry up and finish. Love and miss ya'll!

Growing Up

Here are the pictures I promised. Zenock has been so cute the last few days... it's funny how I can take a million pictures of the same pose and each one seems so different. I apologize if they all look the same to you. We had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. JC's classes are starting to pick up, so we didn't go and do anything. We just stayed home and enjoyed the time. Saturday, Zenock didn't take a nap the whole day... dad was home and I think he was afraid of missing out on play time. Sunday he was so tired, he was falling asleep everywhere....
Our sleepy baby... too much play time with dad.

Our camera is a little slow, but that's ok. I get the funniest poses and faces out of it. I love it!

JC says there is a resemblance to Dopey...

He looks sooo big to me. This is his favorite... tummy time!

He loves to smile. He is trying so hard to crawl and has almost accomplished sitting up on his own. It is definately amazing how fast they can learn. His temper continues on and he has started doing this fake cough when he wants attention. We love it... it makes us laugh. As for JC and I we are doing great. We received callings in our ward... JC is the ward mission leader and I am the program person... (I get to put the programs together each week.) It should be fun. JC has already done quite a bit with the missionaries and we have had them over for dinner a few times. They just added two more to our area for a total of 4. Between that and school, JC gets pretty busy. I am getting excited for it to cool down a bit, then Zenock and I can go for more walks outside. Hope all is well.. Until next time.
